that’s not how science works

the podcast for the science curious

Nicole and Caitlin have known each other since their college days, which were [redacted] number of years ago. They both majored in STEM fields in college, although each of them ended up in jobs where they are not practicing scientists, go figure.

This podcast is rooted in Nicole’s yearly binge of The Flash whenever the next season dropped on Netflix. Every season the science made Nicole want to cry, but instead of simply yelling at her laptop alone in her apartment (probably unhealthy), Nicole would rant about the science on Facebook to her friends and family (probably not much healthier). When Nicole and Caitlin decided to make a podcast, they knew that The Flash would make a great case study. Although Caitlin quickly regretted her decision to watch The Flash, it was frankly too late to change her mind (insert Nicole diabolically laughing).

Of course, That’s Not How Science Works also features episodes on media of all kinds, from TV shows that are not The Flash, to movies, and even to books. Nicole and Caitlin are always looking for new media to consume, dissect, and snark about the science of.
